Note: Paperback collection of the 50 Year Diary blog entries published on the Doctor Who Online site between 2013-2015, where the author watches one episode of Doctor Who a day and records his thoughts. This volume covers An Unearthly Child up to The War Games. Includes foreword by Gareth Roberts. The paperback is now out of print, but is still available as an ebook. Two subsequent volumes were published as ebooks: Volume Two (1970-1981) in 2014, and Volume Three (1982-2014) in 2015. Neither of the latter volumes were issued as paperbacks as far as I can tell. Cover blurb: Watching DOCTOR WHO, one episode a day, from the very start... Since its first broadcast on November 23rd 1963, Doctor Who has clocked up somewhere in the region of 800 episodes, covering eleven Doctors, loads of companions, and a whole universe of terrors. The 50 Year Diary is an attempt by Doctor Who fan Will Brooks to watch each and every one of those episodes, from the very beginning, at the strict pace of one per day, with his thoughts published daily on Doctor Who Online. This book collects together the first 260 entries of The 50 Year Diary, covering the entire runs of the First and Second Doctors (William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton), along with exclusive new entries on the two 1960s Dalek movies, starring Peter Cushing. |
