DOCTOR WHO AND THE ICE WARRIORS
Brian Hayles

DOCTOR WHO AND THE LOCH NESS MONSTER
Terrance Dicks

DOCTOR WHO AND THE GENESIS OF THE DALEKS
Terrance Dicks
At the command of the Time Lords, the Doctor travels back to the time of the birth of the Daleks, in an attempt to totally destroy this terrible menace of the future. But even the Doctor cannot always win...

The inside cover flaps read as follows:

The Yeti had been quiet for forty years. A collector’s item in a museum. Then without warning it awoke — and savagely murdered.

At about the same time patches of mist began to appear in Central London. People who lingered anytime in the mist were found dead, their faces smothered in cobwebs. The cobweb seeped down, penetrating the Underground System. Slowly it spread...

Then the Yeti reappeared, not just one but hordes, roaming the misty streets and cobwebbed tunnels, killing everyone in their path. Central London was gripped tight in a Web of Fear...

Terrance Dicks was born in 1935 and educated at East Ham Grammar School and Downing College, Cambridge.

After a spell in advertising the author became a full-time scriptwriter, first for radio, then television where for five years he was Script Editor of the ‘Doctor Who’ series. He is now a freelance author and writes many of the highly successful ‘Doctor Who’ books.

Terrance Dicks lives in Hampstead, London, is married and has three children. He is an obsessive reader, likes ‘messing about in boats’ and is cultivating an interest in mysticism and meditation.

Note:  A hardback reprint of this edition (even sharing the same ISBN) was released in late 2018 as part of The Target Book Collection, a test issue for a proposed magazine partwork that would have seen a different Target novelisation released every week along with a 16-page behind-the-scenes magazine. Ultimately the magazine series was not produced, so this remains a one-off — however it is notable as being the only hardback novelisation to bear the Target logo! (all the other hardback novelisations were published under the Allan Wingate or WH Allen imprints) This edition is not listed separately on this site as technically it was a magazine issue rather than a book publication.

Cover blurb:
‘It’s like a nightmare. An enemy we can’t see or touch, who knows our every move.’

For forty years the Yeti has been quiet, a simple museum exhibit. Then without warning it wakes, and savagely murders. Meanwhile, patches of mist began to appear in central London. People who linger in the mist are found dead, their faces smothered in cobwebs. The cobwebs seep down, penetrating the Underground System, expanding... Then the Yeti reappear, not just one but hordes, roaming the misty streets and cobwebbed tunnels, killing everyone in their path. The Doctor, Jamie and Victoria must unite with the young Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart to stop the deadly menace.

This is the first story to feature Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart.

With a sudden, shattering roar the Yeti smashed down its arm in a savage blow...

The TARDIS is engulfed by a mysterious web-like substance in space. Breaking free, the Doctor and his companions Jamie and Victoria land in the London Underground system. The Doctor, Jamie, and Victoria team up with an army unit working with their old friend Professor Travers to combat the menace. They soon realise, however, that someone in the group must be working for the Intelligence. With time running out, the Doctor and his friends realise they can trust no one...
